Burnley have signed Belgium international defender Hannes Delcroix on a three-year contract from Anderlecht.

The 24-year-old centre-back is reunited with his former manager Vincent Kompany, and becomes Burnley's 10th signing of the summer transfer window.

"I heard I think on Monday or Tuesday last week that Burnley was interested in me," Delcroix told the club's official website.

"It went really quick. I had a phone call with Vinny and Saturday I was already on the plane. It was a very busy few days, but I am happy to be here now.

“It’s a different competition, the Premier League. Everybody knows it. It’s the best competition in the world at the moment. For me, it’s a big opportunity to come here and it’s a great team. It was not difficult to come here when I got the option.”

Born in Haiti, Delcroix progressed through the academy at Anderlecht and made his senior debut in 2018.

He spent the 2019/20 season on loan in the Eredivisie with RKC Waalwijk before returning to Anderlecht, where he has played in the Belgian Pro League for the last three seasons.

Burnley fans could get a first glimpse of Delcroix in Premier League action this Sunday when the Clarets host Aston Villa.
