Seagulls agree deal with FCV Farul Constanta for transfer of 17-year-old

Brighton & Hove Albion have agreed a deal to sign winger Adrian Mazilu from Romanian club FCV Farul Constanta in January.

Brighton say the transfer, which is subject to approval, will be completed once the winter transfer window opens.

Technical director David Weir explained the deal to Brighton's official website: “Adrian is a player we have been watching for a while, and we are now looking forward to him joining us next year.

“We will watch his progress through until January and then decide on his next steps.”

Who is he?

The 17-year-old enjoyed a breakthrough season in 2022/23, scoring seven goals in 23 appearances.

This summer he featured for Romania in the UEFA Under-21 European Championship tournament that was won by England.

Brighton have already been active in the summer transfer window, signing four players ahead of kicking off their pre-season at the Premier League Summer Series

Their first match at the United States-based tournament is against Chelsea on 22 July.

They open their 2023/24 Premier League campaign at home to promoted Luton Town on 12 August.
