There have been some lightning starts to Premier League matches in the 31 years of the competition, but who has scored the fastest goal?
That honour goes to Shane Long, who scored only 7.69 seconds after kick-off on 23 April 2019 for Southampton at Watford.
The second-fastest strike came only in the 2022/23 season just finished when Philip Billing scored for AFC Bournemouth against Arsenal after only 9.11 seconds.
It went into the No 2 slot ahead of the goal that defender Ledley King scored after 9.82 seconds for Tottenham Hotspur at Bradford City in the 2000/01 season.
Interestingly, eight of the 10 fastest goals have been scored by the away team.
