How the Premier League's awards work

The Barclays Manager of the Season award is given to the standout head coach in a Premier League campaign.

The accolade was first introduced in 1993/94 with Sir Alex Ferguson winning the inaugural award.

The record also belongs to the legendary Manchester United manager, who won it a further 10 times during his career as a Premier League manager.

Pep Guardiola's fourth win moves him outright into second place for the most Manager of the Season awards, having previously been tied with Arsene Wenger and Jose Mourinho with three, while Jurgen Klopp has won it twice.
