Harry Kane's (£11.4m) departure after only 10 minutes of Tottenham Hotspur's 6-0 FA Cup quarter-final victory over Millwall has had a major impact on the plans of Fantasy Premier League managers.

After a run of 17 Premier League goals since returning from an ankle problem in Gameweek 11, there are fears that Kane might have suffered a similar injury and could again face a spell on the sidelines.

With five goals and 33 points in his last two Gameweek starts, Kane's form had sparked huge FPL interest, with more than 145,000 moving to acquire the striker before the weekend, despite him sitting out Gameweek 28.

Similarly, another 38,000 swooped for Kane soon after Saturday's FPL deadline, only for the Spurs striker to limp off only 24 hours later.

Kane will be assessed with a full prognosis expected this week, but many FPL managers are not waiting for the results.

While he remains second for transfers-in ahead of Gameweek 29 Kane has also soared to the higher reaches of the sales chart, with more than 42,000 managers moving him out after Sunday's setback.

A term of absence would likely force FPL managers to switch their sights to Spurs' midfield assets Christian Eriksen (£8.6m) and Dele Alli (£8.7m), both of whom scored and provided assists on Sunday.

But Son Heung-min (£6.8m) could also be a target.

The South Korean struck a hat-trick after moving up front to replace Kane and will likely contest the striker's berth with Vincent Janssen (£7.5m), who scored his first Spurs goal from open play, having been introduced late on.

The impact of Kane's injury could  influence the outlook for both Manchester City's Sergio Aguero (£12.7m) and Arsenal's Alexis Sanchez (£11.5m).

Both found the net in their FA Cup ties at the weekend, with Aguero scoring a sixth goal in five appearances across all competitions as City beat Middlesbrough 2-0.

Aguero was boosted by more than 373,000 acquisitions ahead of City’s two Gameweek 27 fixtures and his 21.3% ownership could grow further should Kane be out.

Sanchez would also become a more viable investment, with funds available for FPL managers to bolster the midfield and opt for a 3-5-2.

The Chilean curled a superb fourth goal in Arsenal's 5-0 victory over Lincoln City to offer FPL managers a reminder of his qualities.

With Manchester United’s Zlatan Ibrahimovic (£11.5m) suspended for Gameweeks 29 and 30, Chelsea's Diego Costa (£10.5m) is the player benefitting most from the Kane fall-out.

Of the 42,000 who have sold Kane, more than 15,000 have looked to Costa as their replacement.

Costa claims an ownership of 34.5%, second only to Everton's Romelu Lukaku (£10.3m and 42.1%) among forwards who has so far gained more than 11,000 of Kane's former managers.

"Managers should wait on the Spurs verdict and plan where to spend the funds; Sanchez and Aguero could emerge as mini-league differentials."
