Leicester City have announced that Craig Shakespeare will be their first-team manager for the rest of the season.

The 53-year-old, a member of the coaching staff for seven of the last eight seasons, was named as interim manager following the departure of Claudio Ranieri at the end of February.

In the two Premier League matches since then, Shakespeare has guided his side to victories over Liverpool and Hull City which have moved the Foxes away from the bottom three.

"He has initiated the type of positive response that we hoped change would bring, showing great leadership qualities and composure under considerable pressure to produce two very important results," Leicester City vice-chairman Aiyawatt Srivaddhanaprabha told lcfc.com

Leicester, who lie 15th, are next in Premier League action at West Ham United on 18 March.
