Demarai Gray (£4.8m) underlined his Fantasy Premier League potential by firing Leicester City into the fifth round of the FA Cup on Wednesday night.

The winger, who has started two of the last three Gameweeks, sealed a man-of-the-match display with a sublime solo goal in a 3-1 extra-time victory over Derby County.

Classified as an FPL midfielder but with potential to be deployed as a support striker, Gray requires monitoring over the coming Gameweeks.

Owned by only 23,105 managers he could emerge as an effective differential.

Manager Claudio Ranieri made 10 changes from the side that lost to Manchester United last Sunday. His midfield was key to Wednesday's win.

Winger Marc Albrighton (£4.9m) supplied a pair of assists from his role on the right flank, while Andy King (£4.7m) and Wilfred Ndidi (£4.9m) also found the net to register a first win of the calendar year.

Ranieri utilised Algerian duo Riyad Mahrez (£8.9m) and Islam Slimani (£8.2m) off the bench late on, the latter recovering from a recent groin injury.

Last season’s top-scoring FPL asset with 240 points, Mahrez needed only 13 minutes to make an impact.

He supplied the assist for the Foxes’ second goal, in extra-time, after coming on in the 81st minute.

Encouragingly, Sunday’s trip to Swansea City is one of five matches over the next seven Gameweeks to score no more than two in the Fixture Difficulty Rankings (FDR).

Home encounters with Hull City, Stoke and Sunderland, along with visits to Swansea and West Ham United over that period, may yet persuade FPL managers to consider Ranieri's men.

But it should be noted that their Gameweek 28 trip to Arsenal will be postponed should either side progress to the FA Cup quarter-finals, scheduled for the same weekend.

Sunday's trip to Swansea is the immediate concern, though, and Gray could boost his booming reputation, driving FPL managers to reassess Leicester's assets.
