A new role for Liverpool can help revive Trent Alexander-Arnold’s (£7.3m) appeal over the upcoming Gameweeks in Fantasy Premier League.

The Reds’ full-back moved into a central midfield berth when his side were in possession against Arsenal at the weekend, with Jordan Henderson (£5.3m) occupying the right flank.

“In the build-up Trent played more inside, double No 6," head coach Jurgen Klopp explained. "He needs to get used to it obviously.

"I would say it's a big step to do that in a game against Arsenal. It opened up different opportunities for us.

"I thought he did well. It was not the first time but not for a while and that is why I am fine with how he executed it.”

Alexander-Arnold has been quick to profit from the tactical tweak, supplying the cross for Roberto Firmino’s (£8.0m) equaliser in the 2-2 draw.

Encouragingly, his display against Arsenal was among his most creative of the season.

His total of four key passes was his joint-second highest of 2022/23, bettered only by his five against Crystal Palace in Gameweek 2.

Notably, Alexander-Arnold has been far more creative at Anfield this season, recording five of his top seven displays at home.

His Sunday showing coincides with an upcoming run of home encounters that can help him deliver more returns.

Liverpool’s favourable home encounter with Nottingham Forest in Blank Gameweek 32 is one of four home matches in four Gameweeks from that point.

That includes both their fixtures in Double Gameweek 34, facing Tottenham Hotspur and Fulham.

Alexander-Arnold’s new role, combined with that run of Anfield encounters, can back into contention as a key pick in defence in Fantasy once again.
