Dawson made an immediate impact at both ends of the pitch on his debut last weekend.

He scored and helped Wolves to a second successive clean sheet in a 3-0 home win over Liverpool, collecting 12 points in Fantasy.

Dawson arrives at Wolves on the back of 17 goals and four assists in the last six seasons combined.

That suggests he can be their go-to defender in a side that has improved under new head coach Julen Lopetegui.

Dawson's debut goal v Liverpool

They have conceded only six goals since the Spaniard took charge in Gameweek 17, the same number as Arsenal and Manchester United.

Wolves’ upcoming schedule adds to their appeal.

They host AFC Bournemouth in Gameweek 24 and are among only four sides with a Double Gameweek 25, traveling to Fulham and Liverpool.

Although Max Kilman (£4.3m) offers a cheaper route into the Wolves defence, Dawson’s potential for goals and clean sheets can make him worth the extra outlay.
