Dimitri Payet will not be considered for selection after asking to leave the club.
Crystal Palace duo Wilfried Zaha and Bakary Sako are also participating in the Africa Cup of Nations and the match comes too soon for Loic Remy (ankle) to be considered a starter. Midfielder James McArthur (calf) and defender Scott Dann (hamstring) are facing late fitness tests.
Jason Puncheon is available after being rested at the weekend, while Christian Benteke (shoulder) and Wayne Hennessey (knock) are also expected to recover.
