The visitors had taken the lead in the first half when Christian Eriksen scored his first goal for Man Utd.

But Erik ten Hag's side were pegged back by former Man Utd winger Dan James shortly after he had come on as a second-half substitute.

With the match seemingly headed for a draw another substitute, the 18-year-old Argentinian Garnacho, hared on to Eriksen's pass to win the match for his side in the third minute of stoppage time.

Man Utd remain in fifth place, on 26 points, three behind fourth-placed Tottenham Hotspur, over whom they have a match in hand.

Fulham lie ninth with 19 points.

Villa had to rally after falling behind to Alexis Mac Allister's strike, which came in the 49th second, Brighton's fastest-ever Premier League goal.

But the visitors responded through Ings' penalty on 20 minutes and his decisive strike early in the second half.

Their first away victory of the season lifts Villa up to 12th place, with 18 points, while Brighton stay seventh, with 21.
