Doubts over the fitness of Mohamed Salah (£13.1m) leave the captaincy race wide open for the final Gameweek of 2021/22 Fantasy Premier League.

Liverpool’s Egyptian is the go-to armband pick for millions of managers each Gameweek but he is uncertain to face Wolverhampton Wanderers on Sunday.

Jamie Vardy (£10.3m), Son Heung-min (£11.2m) and Kevin De Bruyne (£12.1m) are among the best alternatives, with all three in fine form ahead of attractive fixtures.

Leicester City’s Vardy has scored twice and earned 13 points against both Norwich City and Watford over his last three matches.

He hosts a Southampton side who have conceded at least twice in 11 of their last 13 away matches.

Son, meanwhile, has 10 goals, three assists and five double-figure returns in his last nine outings ahead of Tottenham Hotspur’s visit to Norwich City.

The South Korean’s quest for the Golden Boot gives him every motivation, his total of 21 goals just behind the 22 of Salah.

De Bruyne’s influence on Man City’s home form could prove decisive as they attempt to clinch the title by winning their match against Aston Villa.

The Belgian has averaged 8.9 points per start at the Etihad Stadium in 202122, returning double-figures in five of those 12 matches.

Consider another Liverpool star?

Liverpool pair Trent Alexander-Arnold (£8.4m) and Luis Diaz (£8.1m) can also thrive in their crucial home meeting with Wolves.

Alexander-Arnold has blanked in only two of his 14 home starts this term, while Diaz has produced a team-high 34 points in the last four Gameweeks.

Other alternatives

Finally, Ivan Toney (£6.8m) and Jarrod Bowen (£6.9m) have the opportunity to finish the season strongly.

Brentford’s Toney hosts Leeds United on the back of five goals, an assist and 46 points in his last six home starts.

Bowen has two goals, three assists and 27 points in his last two outings ahead of West Ham United’s visit to Brighton & Hove Albion
