A Gameweek 28 home match means Bruno Fernandes (£11.5m) is expected to be the top captain choice in Fantasy Premier League.

Manchester United’s midfielder is the most popular player in Fantasy, owned by more than 57 per cent of managers.

Many of those managers will give their armband to the Portuguese, who faces West Ham United on the back of a 10-point haul at Manchester City, his 11th double-figure return of the campaign.

Fernandes also boasts strong form at Old Trafford. He has scored in each of his last three home outings, totalling 36 points.

Back Spurs for more goals?

Tottenham Hotspur’s star trio could prove the main challengers to Fernandes.

Harry Kane (£11.3m) and Gareth Bale (£9.4m) have produced 19-point hauls against Crystal Palace and Burnley respectively over the last two Gameweeks.

They are the two most-bought players ahead of Friday’s 18:30 GMT deadline, brought in by 342,000 and 332,000 managers respectively ahead of a trip to Arsenal

Son Heung-min (£9.6m), meanwhile, has recorded nine double-figure hauls this season, more than any other Spurs player.

That includes a 13-point return against Arsenal in Gameweek 11.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (£11.4m) can also deliver a big haul in the north London derby.

The Arsenal star is listed as a midfielder in FPL but has scored eight goals in his last six starts in all competitions since being moved up front.

In-form Man City options

Man City also provide a number of explosive options in midfield for their match at Fulham.

Kevin De Bruyne (£11.8m) produced a 14-point haul against Fulham earlier this season, while Riyad Mahrez (£8.1m) has four goals, four assists and 53 points across his last six matches.

Ilkay Gundogan (£6.2m), meanwhile, has averaged 6.2 points per match, more than any other midfielder or forward for the leaders.

Standout differential

For managers looking to make up ground on their FPL rivals, Richarlison (£8.0m) could provide a differential captaincy pick.

He faces Burnley at home in his most prolific form of the campaign.

Everton's Brazilian has scored in four of his last five matches, totalling 32 points in that period.
