PL2 review: Suengchitthawon inspires Leicester win

19 Jan 2021

Foxes claim first victory in four Division 1 matches by winning 4-2 against Man Utd

Thanawat Suengchitthawon scored twice as Leicester City ended a run of three straight Premier League 2 Division 1 defeats with a 4-2 home victory over Manchester United.

Man Utd were level at half-time following a brace from Anthony Elanga. But Jacob Wakeling's strike and a second from Thailand-born Suengchitthawon, a 21-year-old attacking midfielder, took Leicester above their visitors on goal difference in ninth place.

Second-placed Manchester City earned a 4-0 win at Derby County thanks to a hat-trick from Liam Delap, who was later sent off, and a Taylor Harwood-Bellis header.

Also in Division 1 the points were shared in the Merseyside derby as Tyler Morton earned Liverpool a 1-1 draw at Everton.

In Division 2, Diego Llorente scored the only goal as Leeds United beat Stoke City and extended their lead at the top to eight points, while Fulham won 3-2 in a thriller at Crystal Palace.
