The Scout's panel of experts give their verdict on who managers should captain ahead of the Fantasy Premier League Gameweek 13 deadline of 16:30 GMT on Tuesday 15 December.

Sam Bonfield (@FPLFamily)

I'm trusting the away form of Bruno Fernandes (£11.0m). He has played in five Premier League away matches this season and returned in every one. Even in Gameweek 11, when he was benched and only played 45 minutes, he still managed an assist and two bonus points.

Couple this with Sheffield United's defensive problems and Fernandes should be on for a big points haul.

Utkarsh Dalmia (@zophar666)

It's a tough decision between Kevin De Bruyne (£11.9m) and Fernandes. Both are great picks and I can't really split them.

Lee Bonfield (@FPLFamily)

Going into Gameweek 13 without Fernandes was too much for me to stomach. He has finally arrived in my FPL team and I'll be giving him the armband.

If the Premier League counted only away matches, Manchester United would be top!

Geoff Dance (@GeoffreyDance)

De Bruyne has only blanked against one team in the bottom half this season, and has five attacking returns in his last three home outings.

Manchester City are at home against West Bromwich Albion, who have no away clean sheets and average more than two goals conceded away from home.

Ben Crabtree (@FC_CrabDogg)

De Bruyne is the best option for me. His ownership is still low enough that there's probably no reason to try and be too clever.

Neal Thurman (@nealjthurman)

Looking at the match-ups, it's hard to avoid picking De Bruyne as your captain, with Fernandes as second choice if you don't own the Belgian.

Ben McNair (@drbenmcnair)

After an ill-fated move for Sam Johnstone (£4.5m) a couple of weeks ago, I'm all too aware that West Brom have conceded seven goals in two games against Crystal Palace and Newcastle United, so I'll be captaining De Bruyne, who is likely to be heavily involved in an easy win.

Chuck Booth (@ChuckBoothSport)

Not having De Bruyne, I have a bit of a conundrum. I'll be backing Jack Grealish (£7.8m) against a Burnley side who can cause some trouble but won't get forward much versus Aston Villa.

Holly Shand (@FFCommunity_)

I've got a real headache between De Bruyne and Fernandes. I think I'll go with De Bruyne as I would be more frustrated if he bagged a big score and I didn't back him than I would with Fernandes. Sometimes you have to trust your gut.

Nick (@WGTA_Nick)

Fernandes will get the armband for me. This is a completely different Sheff Utd team from last year, and with only one point to their name, they look completely bereft of confidence.

Remember the Gameweek 13 deadline is at 16:30 GMT on Tuesday 15 December.
