There could be a two-way race to be the most-selected captain in Gameweek 8 of Fantasy Premier League.

For the last three Gameweeks, Tottenham Hotspur pair Son Heung-min (£9.6m) and Harry Kane (£11.0m), along with Liverpool's Mohamed Salah (£12.4m), have occupied the top three spots.

But with Salah set to visit Manchester City, Son and Kane look the overwhelming favourites against West Bromwich Albion.

Kane and Son link up

Son blanked in Spurs’ 2-1 home victory against Brighton & Hove Albion last weekend, a concern for the 59.6 per cent of managers who own him ahead of his trip to The Hawthorns.

But his best performances have been saved for away matches season.

He has 53 points in three appearances away from home, scoring seven goals and supplying an assist.

Kane, meanwhile, has been Spurs’ most consistent attacker in 2020/21, producing points in six successive Gameweeks.

Kane has been the standout goal threat, with his 31 shots more than double the 15 recorded by Son.

The forward also leads the South Korean for shots in the penalty area, by 21 to 11.

West Brom’s defensive record offers further encouragement for the Spurs pair.

The Baggies have conceded 16 goals and 17 big chances in 2020/21, both league-leading totals.

Liverpool and Man City options

The numbers of Liverpool's Salah suggest he can profit against Man City this weekend.

His totals of 32 shots and 25 shots in the box are competition-highs this season.

Sadio Mane (£12.0m) and Kevin De Bruyne (£11.5m) provide big-hitting alternatives for the match at the Etihad Stadium.

Mane has scored three goals and earned 23 points from his two away appearances this term.

De Bruyne, meanwhile, has been a huge influence for Man City since his recent return from injury.

The Belgian has five assists in his last three starts across all competitions.
