The Scout on why the Man Utd attacker is a bargain pick in his new position as a Fantasy midfielder

The Scout looks at players expected to progress and make a big impact in 2020/21 Fantasy Premier League.

Mason Greenwood (MUN) £7.5m

The Manchester United attacker can kick on after securing a spot as a first-team regular during the final months of 2019/20.

After making only two starts in the opening 26 Gameweeks, Greenwood then started 10 of Man Utd’s final 12 matches, including each of their last eight.

His impact was vital for the Red Devils in that late run from Gameweek 31+ onwards.

His five goals were level with Bruno Fernandes (£10.5m) and just one fewer than their top scorer, Anthony Martial (£9.0m).

Meanwhile, Greenwood's eight shots on target again matched Fernandes, just behind the team-leading total of nine by Martial and Marcus Rashford (9.5m).

Greenwood's 2019/20 goals

After playing for the final few months of 2019/20 on the right wing, the 18-year-old has been reclassified from a forward to a midfielder in FPL this term.

And the underlying statistics from last season further highlight the FPL potential he will have in new his position.

His 51.3 per cent shot accuracy and 25.6 per cent goal conversion were both better than any Man Utd player.

Furthermore, his average of 131.2 minutes per goal was quicker than any midfielder who scored more than once in 2019/20.

Having established himself in Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's first XI, Greenwood’s price rise of £3.0m from last season is higher than any other player in FPL.

But if he continues to offer starts and goals, his cost of £7.5m looks a bargain.
