Six young talents have been shortlisted for the 2019/20 Premier League 2 Player of the Season award.

Nominees were selected by the Premier League Football Development Panel. The panel also decides the winner, who will be announced next week.

The six starlets will hope to emulate Brighton & Hove Albion’s Aaron Connolly, who won the prize as PL2 Division 1's top scorer in 2018/19.

Before that Arsenal's Reiss Nelson won the 2017/18 accolade and Oliver McBurnie, now competing against Connolly and Nelson in the Premier League with Sheffield United, claimed the honour in 2016/17 while at Swansea City.

Liam Cullen (SWA)

Cullen earned the PL2 Player of the Month accolade in January after scoring 10 goals in four appearances across three different competitions in the month. He netted 17 times at Under-23 level in the campaign. He was rewarded with a Championship debut, a new contract and scored his first senior goal in Swansea's final-day 4-1 win at Reading that clinched them a playoff place.

Billy Gilmour (CHE)

The 19-year-old midfielder began his season with August's PL2 Player of the Month award, in a month when he made his Premier League debut for Chelsea against Sheffield United. The Scot has made six top-flight appearances this season in total, was named man of the match in his first FA Cup and league starts and helped the Blues to the top of the Division 1 table before the season was curtailed.

Jahmal Hector-Ingram (DER)

Enjoying an excellent campaign in front of goal for Derby County, the 21-year-old struck 10 times in 17 Division 1 matches. He also scored five Premier League International Cup goals and seven times in the Premier League Cup. He earned first-team recognition earlier this month when he appeared off the bench in a Championship match against promoted West Bromwich Albion.

He has scored three goals in 10 senior appearances across all competitions, including a stunning FA Cup winner against Everton.

The 22-year-old winger was prolific for the Hammers in 2019/20, netting 12 goals in 13 PL2 matches and assisting six. His Premier League debut for West Ham came against Wolverhampton Wanderers in December, one of two top-flight appearances this season. Holland has also scored three goals in 12 matches during a loan spell with League One club Oxford United.
