A victory for 12th-placed Southampton would extend their unbeaten run to seven matches and could send them above Everton, who also have 49 points.

Sheffield United, eighth on 54 points, aim to bounce back from two successive defeats in their first competitive match at Southampton since 2009.

Team news

Jan Bednarek is back in contention, but Sofiane Boufal and Moussa Djenepo are out.

Sheff Utd have reported a few players are carrying knocks, while Lys Mousset is unavailable having returned to France following the birth of his first child.
