Everyone seems to be captaining Jamie Vardy (£10.0m) in Fantasy Premier League but if you're willing to take a risk to climb above your mini-league rivals Mohamed Salah (£12.2m) might be a better pick.

Salah disappointed his FPL owners in midweek as he was rested while Vardy scored for the seventh match in a row to reward over two million managers who gave him the armband.

It means Vardy is set to be the most popular pick once again at Aston Villa but the experts on the latest episode of the FPL Show believe a fresh Salah can outscore him in a Gameweek 16 fixture in which he was devastating last season.

"I feel like he's guaranteed to start because of his rest and of course he scored three times against AFC Bournemouth last season," says Gianni Buttice, who also warns against choosing Sadio Mane (£12.3m) as captain.

And even though fellow expert David Munday says Vardy and the GW16 armband are "a match made in heaven", he too is tempted by Liverpool's Egyptian.

"In the last four matches he's played he's joint-second in the league for shots on target with double what Mane's got," says Munday.

"There's every chance he could explode at Bournemouth."
