A home encounter with Aston Villa can help Christian Pulisic (£7.5m) get back on the scoresheet in Gameweek 15 of Fantasy Premier League, and he is backed to do so as part of The Scout's midweek selection.

The Chelsea winger disappointed his 15.4 per cent ownership by blanking against West Ham United at the weekend.

But he comes into the meeting with Dean Smith's side at Stamford Bridge in excellent form.

The United States international has six goals in his last eight appearances across all competitions.

Pulisic faces a Villa side who have conceded 104 shots inside the penalty area away from home, a Premier League-leading figure.

He takes his place in a Scout Selection that lines up in a 3-4-3 formation, with Jamie Vardy (£9.9m) handed the armband and Sadio Mane (£12.2m) given the vice-captaincy.

Vicente Guaita (CRY) £5.0m

A visit from AFC Bournemouth gives the Crystal Palace goalkeeper the chance to continue his fine record at Selhurst Park. Guaita has kept a clean sheet in all three of his home fixtures against opponents in the bottom half of the table.

Trent Alexander-Arnold (LIV) £7.2m

The Liverpool right-back has a home match against Everton, having provided two assists and 10 points at the weekend. At home, Alexander-Arnold's total of 32 chances created is more than any other player in FPL.

John Lundstram (SHU) £5.0m

FPL's most-owned defender offers big all-round potential at home against Newcastle United. Lundstram has three goals, one assist and three clean sheets in his seven matches at Bramall Lane.

Ben Chilwell (LEI) £5.9m

Leicester City's left-back has produced 41 of his 64 points in the last five Gameweeks. Chilwell can serve up more returns at home against bottom-of-the-table Watford on Wednesday.

Wilfried Zaha (CRY) £6.7m

Back-to-back goals against Liverpool and Burnley have earned him more than 150,000 transfers in. Zaha can reward his new owners against an AFC Bournemouth side who have conceded at least two goals in three successive matches.

Sadio Mane (LIV) £12.2m

Liverpool's in-form attacker has produced points in four of the last five Gameweeks. Mane has been far more reliable when playing at Anfield, scoring 22 of his 30 league goals in the last two seasons at home.

Dele Alli (TOT) £8.5m

The Tottenham Hotspur midfielder has three goals and two assists in his three matches under Jose Mourinho in all competitions. Alli plays a Manchester United side who are without a clean sheet in nine Gameweeks.

Christian Pulisic (CHE) £7.5m

His 12 shots in the penalty area during the last four Gameweeks rank top among Fantasy midfielders.

Jamie Vardy (LEI) £9.9m

Eight goals and three assists in the last six Gameweeks have strengthened his position as the top-scoring player in FPL. Vardy has scored in his previous three meetings with Watford.

Danny Ings (SOU) £6.2m

One of FPL's most consistent forwards, the Southampton striker has scored in six of the last eight Gameweeks. A home encounter with Norwich City gives him the chance to extend that run and boosts his appeal as a captaincy contender.

Raul Jimenez (WOL) £7.7m

The Wolverhampton Wanderers frontman faces West Ham in prolific form. Jimenez has four goals and three assists in his last seven Premier League outings, blanking on just one of those occasions.

What the experts say

Lee Bonfield (@FPLFamily): At last we are starting to see the 'template' break up a little, although a month or so ago I would not have expected Zaha, Alli or Ings to be the ones to break it! Alli, in particular, has a new lease of life under Mourinho and is relishing playing in his preferred position. My guess is that this is not the last time we see the Spurs man in a Scout Selection over the Christmas period.

Sam Bonfield (@FPLFamily): This looks like the perfect team for Gameweek 15. Ings has gone quietly under the radar as Southampton haven’t been great. However, the result against Watford in Gameweek 14 should rejuvenate them ahead of some lovely fixtures and Ings will be the spearhead in that attack. Likewise, Zaha looks an excellent pick for this week and the foreseeable future.

Ben Crabtree (@FC_CrabDogg): This Gameweek normally has a lot of goals. I expect a big score from the team.

Mark McGettigan (@FPLGeneral): Good to see Zaha in there, who I've transferred in this week. Strong picks this week. I would have gone with Dean Henderson (£4.7m) over Guaita in goal.

Ben McNair (@drbenmcnair): The selection looks superb this Gameweek. I would have gone with Henderson in goal. Sheffield United are so well organised at home and Newcastle have been poorer offensively than their recent goal tally suggests.

Neal Thurman (@nealjthurman): I believe in the Norwich revival and I want either Todd Cantwell (£4.6m) or Onel Hernandez (£5.3m) in over Pulisic. I'm partial to Cantwell but I think both are equally likely to put up points against Saints.

Holly Shand (@FFCommunity_): Leicester will steal the headlines. I would choose to triple up with another Foxes defender to go alongside Chilwell. I'm expecting an attacking return and clean sheet against this struggling Watford side.

Paul Gee (@FPLPaulGee): Great team but to have no Manchester City player is a mistake in my opinion. They will destroy an out-of-form Burnley side.
