Successive defeats against Crystal Palace and Everton have moved West Ham to 11th in the table.

Manuel Pellegrini's men host a Sheffield United side who moved above the Hammers to ninth courtesy of Monday night's 1-0 win against Arsenal.

Team news

Aaron Cresswell is fit to return for West Ham, having missed the last match but trained this week with no problems.

The Hammers remain without long-term absentees Michail Antonio (hamstring), Lukasz Fabianski (hip) and Winston Reid (knee), but the latter is set to play for the Under-23s next week.

Sheffield United have no fresh injury concerns.

Did you know?

West Ham have won only one of their last seven home meetings with Sheffield United in all competitions (D5 L1). That victory did come, however, in the last such Premier League meeting between the sides, a 1-0 success in November 2006.

The Blades' run of one win and three draws on the road in 2019/20 means they are one of only two Premier League teams still unbeaten away from home along with Liverpool. The last newly-promoted team to go unbeaten in their first five away top-flight fixtures were Hull City in 2008/09 when Phil Brown was manager.

West Ham were beaten 2-1 by Crystal Palace in their last home Premier League match, the Hammers haven't lost consecutive league fixtures at London Stadium since September 2018.

Since the start of the 2016/17 campaign, Chris Wilder has won 79 league matches as manager of Sheffield United. In the top four tiers, only Jurgen Klopp and Pep Guardiola have won more in that period, with 81 and 93 victories respectively.
