The Scout's essential FPL tips for Gameweek 9

The Fantasy Premier League experts have used their two free transfers for Gameweek 9 for the FPL Experts Panel team.

Having saved a transfer in Gameweek 8, the experts had two free trades to use this Gameweek.

They have brought in Caglar Soyuncu (£4.7m) and Tammy Abraham (£7.7m) ahead of Saturday's 11:30 BST deadline.

Leicester City's Soyuncu has made an impact at both ends of the pitch, with two clean sheets and an assist in the opening eight matches.

A home encounter with Burnley marks the start of a very favourable schedule for the Foxes. According to the Fixture Difficulty Ratings (FDR), eight of their next nine opponents score only two.

Abraham also has a kind upcoming run of matches, with each of Chelsea's next four scoring two in the FDR.

All eight of his goals this season have been scored in the last six Gameweeks.

Makeweights

Lucas Digne (£6.0m) and Ashley Barnes (£6.5m) are the players making way.

Digne's Everton have lost five of their last six matches ahead of a visit from West Ham United.

Barnes has lacked a cutting edge in recent matches, blanking in each of the last five Gameweeks.

Abraham appeal

Abraham's run of goals immediately earns him the captaincy at home to Newcastle United.

The Magpies have conceded 11 goals and 23 shots on target away from home. Both those totals rank second-worst in the Premier League.

Raheem Sterling (£12.1m) is the vice-captain for Manchester City's encounter with Crystal Palace.

The winger enjoyed a successful trip to Selhurst Park last season, scoring twice in the corresponding fixture.

What the experts say

Sam Bonfield (@FPLFamily): Everton haven't been keeping enough clean sheets to justify the cost of Digne so he makes way for Soyuncu, who has an excellent run of fixtures coming up. The move also frees up much-needed funds to upgrade the strike force. Barnes was on form at the start of the season but recent Fantasy points have been few and far between. By contrast, Abraham has been exceptional for Chelsea who, like Leicester, have a great run of matches. So with the perfect blend of form and fixtures, Abraham is the perfect transfer in, and captain option.

Holly Shand (@FFCommunity_): Digne to Soyuncu looks like a great move as we push to drive that cash forwards. Everton aren't investible right now and Leicester have a great run of fixtures coming up! Clean sheets are on the way.

Ash (@FPLHints): Form is key and class doesn't matter. It's clear that Barnes and Digne have been failing to perform for a number weeks. We were probably late to jump on the Abraham bandwagon but it makes sense to own him with his goals and high ownership. Soyuncu has a great run of upcoming fixtures and could be the next must-have budget defender.

Paul Gee (@FPLPaulGee): Digne to Soyuncu makes sense given Leicester are very solid at the back. Also frees up cash to move a goal-shy Barnes to possible captain candidate Abraham.

Ben McNair (@drbenmcnair): Abraham was the top priority this week. No player has more than his 15 shots on target. Some managers are talking about giving him the armband against Newcastle. Matches against Burnley and Watford follow. I'm a bit apprehensive about selling Digne, as you never know when he's going to turn up with a 15+ points haul, but Everton are struggling. Soyuncu, on the other hand, looks assured of starts in a Leicester defence that have conceded only 13 big chances, despite having played Chelsea, Manchester United, Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool already this season.

Chuck Booth (@ChuckBoothSport): Everything this week was centred around bringing Abraham in and unfortunately it meant that we can no longer live with Digne's lack of returns. Gaining Leicester defensive cover will prove fruitful moving forward.
