Spurs have lost two of their last three matches but return to Tottenham Hotspur Stadium boasting the fourth-best home record in the Premier League. 

Watford are the only team still seeking a first win of the campaign but they have been beaten only twice in their last five outings.

Spurs will monitor the fitness of Christian Eriksen who suffered a dead leg while on international duty with Denmark.

Hugo Lloris (elbow) is sidelined, but Ryan Sessegnon and Giovani Lo Celso could be in contention after recovering from a hamstring and hip injury respectively.

Etienne Capoue (back), Sebastian Prodl (hamstring) and Isaac Success (groin) are all ruled out for Watford.

Troy Deeney continues his rehabilitation following knee surgery but is another "four to five weeks" from a return, says head coach Quique Sanchez Flores.

Watford are aiming for their first away Premier League win against a team who finished in last season's top six since beating Arsenal 2-1 in January 2017. They have since lost 16 in a row, conceding 53 goals and scoring only nine.

Spurs have won six of their nine Premier League home matches at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, including winning three of their four such matches this term.

The hosts have lost five of their last 33 Premier League meetings with sides starting the day bottom of the table, winning 23, and all five of those defeats were against teams beginning with the letter W, losing once to West Ham and Wigan and three times to West Brom.
