For George Houghton, Manchester City's Walking Football initiative is more than just rekindling an old passion for the game. It has given him a purpose in life he thought he had lost after his wife died.
The initiative was set up by City In The Community, the community arm of Man City, which this season is celebrating its 30th anniversary.

It is overseen by the club's community coaches twice a week and aims to improve the health of over-50s as well as provide social interaction to those who most need it.
"I was just sat there doing not a lot of anything," Houghton, who used to play the game, said. "But I came down here and I've loved it from the very first minute.
"I can't wait, Tuesdays and Fridays is my week. It's really turned my life round."
City in the Community’s Walking Football sessions take place every Tuesday and Friday at the Manchester tennis and football centre on the Etihad campus. More information here
