1999: West Ham United 4-3 Sheffield Wednesday

West Ham United prevailed in a seven-goal thriller with bottom-of-the-table Sheffield Wednesday. 

The hosts struck first through Paulo Wanchope's far-post header but were quickly pegged back when Petter Rudi equalised with a low shot.

Wim Jonk put the visitors ahead three minutes after the restart before Paolo Di Canio levelled from the penalty spot. 

Sheffield Wednesday restored their lead four minutes later through Andy Booth's header but soon had Danny Sonner sent off. West Ham capitalised with goals from Marc Vivien Foe and Frank Lampard to snatch three points. 

Victory moved West Ham up to 10th on 21 points while Sheffield Wednesday were rooted to the foot of the table on six points, they were six points from safety.

2009: Sunderland 1-0 Arsenal

Darren Bent scored the only goal as Sunderland triumphed against Arsenal.

With 19 minutes left, the striker pounced on a rebound which took a deflection off team-mate Fraizer Campbell, for his first goal in four matches.

This was Sunderland's first league win in 12 attempts against the Gunners, with the Black Cats also becoming the first side not to concede against Arsenal that season.

Arsenal's defeat saw them drop to third on 25 points, eight points behind league leaders Chelsea. Sunderland were eighth on 20 points.
