WHO'S GOING TO BE YOUR

MAN OF THE MATCH?

Club Report: Arsenal v Burnley

Arsenal got back to winning ways in the Premier League as goals from Leandro Trossard, William Saliba and Oleksandr Zinchenko secured a 3-1 victory over Burnley at Emirates Stadium.

How the match unfolded

It was a lively start as both ‘keepers were called into action early.

Burnley’s James Trafford tipped Bukayo Saka’s powerful long-range effort on to the bar before David Raya made a smart save from Johann Berg Gudmundsson’s low shot, after the Icelander had been played through on goal.

On the stroke of half-time, Arsenal broke the deadlock through Leandro Trossard.

A deep cross from Oleksandr Zinchenko was headed back across goal by Bukayo Saka for Trossard to bravely head in, receiving blows from Trafford and a post. That was Trossard’s sixth Premier League goal of the season, all assisted by Saka.

Shortly into the second half, Luca Koleosho broke through on goal, but before the Burnley winger could shoot, he was denied by a wonderful recovering tackle from William Saliba.

But in the 54th minute Koleosho was involved in Burnley’s equaliser. He picked up the ball on the left and stopped Takehiro Tomiyasu from clearing it. The ball fell to Josh Brownhill, whose deflected shot beat Raya.

The scores were not level for long as a corner from Trossard was headed in by Saliba for the centre-back’s first goal in more than a year.

Arsenal doubled their lead in the 72nd minute as a Burnley header from another corner crashed off their own crossbar and the ball fell to Zinchenko to convert with a spectacular volley.

The game had another late twist when Arsenal substitute Fabio Vieira was shown a red card for a dangerous tackle on Brownhill.

Burnley were unable to take advantage of the extra man and a win for Arsenal moves them into second on 27 points, level with leaders Manchester City.

A fifth consecutive defeat for Burnley keeps them 19th on four points.
