Zaha and Mateta lift Palace into top half

First-half goals earned Crystal Palace a 2-0 victory at Wolverhampton Wanderers that moved them into the top half of the table.

Jean-Philippe Mateta put Palace ahead on 19 minutes, tapping in the rebound after his initial effort had been saved by Jose Sa.

Palace doubled their advantage 15 minutes later, when Wilfried Zaha converted a penalty awarded for a foul by Max Kilman on Jeffrey Schlupp.

Michael Olise almost added a third before the break, but was denied by a fingertip save from Sa.

Wolves pressed for a late consolation, but a lofted effort from Chiquinho was kept out by Vicente Guaita.

Palace rise to 10th on 33 points. A third consecutive defeat leaves Wolves two places better off on 40 points.
