Super sub Bailey hands Everton first defeat

Leon Bailey came off the bench to score his first goal for Aston Villa as they ended Everton's unbeaten start with a 3-0 win.

Both sides traded chances in an open first half, with Salomon Rondon going close for Everton while Asmir Begovic, in for the injured Jordan Pickford, brilliantly denied Tyrone Mings' header.

Villa struck three times in under 10 second-half minutes, with Matty Cash making the breakthrough.

The right-back collected a pass from Douglas Luiz before firing in his first goal for the club on 66 minutes.

A corner from Bailey was glanced into his own net by Lucas Digne, before the Jamaican ran on to a pass from Danny Ings to rifle in a third.

Victory lifts Villa to 10th on seven points, while Everton drop to fifth with 10 points.
