MAN OF THE MATCH?

Pope helps Burnley earn a point at Aston Villa

Burnley goalkeeper Nick Pope produced several saves to help earn his side a goalless draw at Aston Villa.

Ashley Westwood flashed a shot wide for Burnley before Emiliano Martinez kept out Chris Wood's header as the visitors started brightly.

Villa responded, with Pope tipping Anwar El Ghazi's free-kick on to the crossbar while Kortney Hause headed against a post.

Pope denied El Ghazi and Ollie Watkins early the second half before Martinez saved from Ben Mee at the other end.

Tyrone Mings glanced a header wide late on as both teams had to settle for a point.

The draw moves Burnley out of the bottom three, up to 17th on 10 points. Villa are 11th with 19 points.
