    Match summary

Chris Wood earned Burnley a point with a late header in a thrilling 2-2 draw at Aston Villa.

John McGinn thought he had put Villa ahead, only for VAR to rule out his goal for offside against Conor Hourihane in the build-up.

Villa still took the lead when Anwar El Ghazi finished first time from Frederic Guilbert’s cross.

Burnley substitute Jay Rodriguez equalised with a thumping header from Erik Pieters’ delivery on 68 minutes, and a dramatic finish ensued.

McGinn volleyed home at the far post from a Trezeguet cross but, within 90 seconds, Wood headed in Burnley’s second equaliser from Matthew Lowton’s centre.

Burnley drop to 10th on nine points, while Villa are still in the bottom three on five.
