    Match summary

Substitute Chris Wood struck twice as Burnley beat West Ham United 3-0 at London Stadium.

The home side had dominated a goalless first half, but Marko Arnautovic was denied by Nick Pope, whose outstretched foot also stopped Manuel Lanzini when through.

West Ham were punished on 66 minutes when Wood, five minutes after coming on, broke down the right and laid the ball off to Ashley Barnes, who fired into the top corner.

Four minutes later it was 2-0, Wood diverting in Aaron Lennon’s cross.

The New Zealander then made it 3-0, pouncing after Joe Hart spilled Johann Berg Gudmundsson’s shot.

Burnley’s first away win since November puts them within two points of Arsenal.

West Ham fall to 16th, three points off the relegation zone.
