Swansea start cup campaign with six-goal win

Premier League International Cup

Nathan Dyer and Daniel James net twice each as Welsh club beat Celtic 6-0 at Landore

Swansea City kicked off their Premier League International Cup campaign with a 6-0 victory over Celtic at their Landore Training Ground.

Nathan Dyer and fellow first-team midfielder Ki Sung-yeung started and it was the former who slid a pass for Oli McBurnie to score Swansea's first-half opener.

Moments after Celtic's Jack Aitchison hit the crossbar, Jay Fulton skipped past two defenders to score the first of five second-half goals.

Dyer and Daniel James scored twice each. Both Dyer's goals came from close range while James cut in and found the net with a fine near-post finish before scoring from the edge of the area in stoppage time.

Swansea are top of Group D, which includes Athletic Club Bilbao and Manchester United. Their next match in the group is a trip to Man Utd on 4 November.
