As the 2026 summer transfer window comes to a close, we've selected 18 of the biggest moves of the summer so far and want you to decide which one has been the best.
Will you pick Elliot Anderson's move from Nottingham Forest to Manchester City? Or how about Bruno Guimaraes joining Arsenal from Newcastle United? Choose one option from the poll below.
Elliot Anderson (Nottingham Forest to Man City)
Anderson was one of the most sought-after holding midfielders in the world this summer and Man City have bought a player capable of dominating the top flight for years to come. He was a key figure in England’s third-place finish at the 2026 FIFA World Cup – playing all eight games and starting seven, bar the third-place playoff.
Ousmane Diomande (Sporting Lisbon to Nottingham Forest)
The centre-back has been arguably the leading defender in Portugal for the past two seasons. Diomande was named in the Primeira Liga Team of the Year for two years running, as one of the best players in the Sporting side who won successive titles. He also won the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations with Ivory Coast.
Mateus Fernandes (West Ham to Spurs)
At only 22, Fernandes has already consistently delivered brilliant performances in the Premier League for Southampton and West Ham United and is regarded as one of the league’s most promising midfielders. Several clubs were reportedly vying for him, but Spurs beat them to a brave young player comfortable receiving the ball under pressure.
Gonzalo Garcia (Real Madrid to Fulham)
New Fulham head coach Alvaro Arbeloa was hugely impressed with Garcia while he was Real Madrid head coach and felt the player deserved more opportunities. Considering he was competing with Kylian Mbappe, Jude Bellingham and Vinicius Jr in Real Madrid's attack, that is no slight on the youngster who scored 13 goals in 51 matches for the club.
Joao Gomes (Wolves to Aston Villa)
Premier League-ready, Joao Gomes was consistently one of Wolverhampton Wanderers’ best performers in the top flight. His energy and defensive balance are exactly what head coach Unai Emery needs in Aston Villa’s midfield, while his aggressive pressing will help sharpen their attack.
Bruno Guimaraes (Newcastle to Arsenal)
Guimaraes has been one of the Premier League’s leading central midfielders for several seasons at Newcastle United and has the potential to form an elite partnership with Declan Rice in Arsenal’s midfield. An aggressive tempo-controller, he arrives as proven Premier League quality to enhance the title holders.
Jan Paul van Hecke (Brighton to Spurs)
Van Hecke played more than 100 Premier League games for Brighton & Hove Albion. He is comfortable on the ball, calm in possession and played 2,065 short passes in the league last season – the fourth-most of any player. This readymade centre-back could thrive at Tottenham Hotspur where he is reunited with head coach Roberto De Zerbi.
Johan Manzambi (Freiburg to Aston Villa)
Manzambi was last season’s UEFA Europa League Young Player of the Season, a key player in SC Freiburg’s run to the final, where they lost to his new club. Still only 20, the midfielder was also a standout in Switzerland’s run to the World Cup quarter-finals, where he scored three goals and set up two more despite only making two starts.
Victor Munoz (Osasuna to Liverpool)
Liverpool moved early to sign Munoz, a World Cup winner with Spain. After losing Mohamed Salah on a free transfer, the 23-year-old – a product of both Barcelona and Real Madrid’s academies – will provide an option on either flank. Lightning quick and diminutive in stature, Munoz should excite the Anfield faithful.
Morgan Rogers (Aston Villa to Chelsea)
Rogers' rise has been rapid in recent years: a key player in the Villa side that finished fourth last season and lifted the Europa League trophy, becoming a regular for England and finishing third at the World Cup. He will link up with close friend Cole Palmer in Xabi Alonso's exciting, new-look frontline.
Mamadou Sangare (RC Lens to Brentford)
Sangare had an outstanding season for RC Lens, finishing second in Ligue 1, qualifying for the UEFA Champions League, as well as lifting the Coupe de France. A box-to-box midfielder adept at both winning the ball and driving forwards with it, he was chosen in the Ligue 1 Team of the Year.
Andrey Santos (Chelsea to Man Utd)
Santos has long been considered a bright talent after joining Chelsea as a teenager in 2023. An effective ball-winner and passer, the Brazilian will hope to cement a regular place in Michael Carrick's starting line-up after being in and out of the team at Chelsea.
Antonio Silva (Benfica to Bournemouth)
Silva came through Benfica’s academy, making his debut in the Primeira Liga at 19. Now 22, the defender played more than 100 times for the club, 29 times in the Champions League, and occasionally captained them. At Qatar 2022, Silva became the youngest player to represent Portugal at a World Cup.
Youri Tielemans (Aston Villa to Man Utd)
Carrick wanted to revamp Manchester United’s midfield and Tielemans brings vast experience alongside his quality. He has been a leading Premier League midfielder across seven seasons at Leicester City and Villa. The Belgium captain also won the FA Cup with Leicester in 2021 and the Europa League with Villa last season.
Sandro Tonali (Newcastle to Spurs)
Tonali was a statement signing by Spurs. At his best, Tonali was one of the Premier League’s outstanding central midfielders while at Newcastle. Spurs fans will hope that he can form an effective partnership with fellow new recruit Fernandes in north London.
Bazoumana Toure (Hoffenheim to Newcastle)
The Ivory Coast forward has experienced a rapid rise in the last two years. Only recently turned 20, he won the Ivory Coast title as a teenager with ASEC Mimosas – the country’s biggest club – in 2023. He hopped from Hammarby, in Sweden, to Hoffenheim, helping the German side to fifth in the Bundesliga last season.
Christos Tzolis (Club Brugge to Arsenal)
Already nicknamed Leonidas – after the Spartan warrior – for topping pre-season strength and fitness tests, the Greek winger has made an instant impression at Arsenal. Tzolis will add intensity on the left wing, an area Mikel Arteta needed to strengthen following the departure of Leandro Trossard.
Harry Wilson (Free to Leeds United)
Welsh forward Wilson scored 11 goals last season – his most prolific campaign and many of them Guinness Goal of the Month contenders. He made the Premier League Player of the Month shortlist multiple times and, at 29, brings valuable experience to Leeds United. Signing him on a free transfer was a major coup.
