Fantasy is live for 2026/27, and changes to Fantasy Premier League have been announced ahead of the new season, along with exciting new features.
Picking your team is now easier
For FPL managers who are returning for 2026/27, there will now be an option to get help when picking your initial squad through the website.
While experienced managers can choose to skip this process and select their squad as normal, less-experienced managers and beginners can answer a few quick questions that will shape a squad that is chosen for them, based on their preferences.
Position changes
The Scout reveals the 11 players whose position in Fantasy has been reclassified for 2026/27, and provides analysis.
LIVE updates to mini-leagues
Managers will feel every game this season thanks to real-time updates to leagues and bonus points.
For those who keep a close eye on their world ranking, your position in the global standings – and in all other leagues – will be continuously updated during matches.
This season, projected bonus points will be added to your players’ scores after 20 minutes of each match – a time when players start to become separated in the Bonus Points System – and those bonus points will change across the rest of the contest.
Price Change Predictor
This new tool will use official FPL data to track the transfer activity for every player, providing the best possible indication of who is likely to rise and fall EACH DAY at 00:00 UK time.
If you make a habit of checking the Predictor every day during the season, you can stay ahead of the curve and steal a march on your mini-league rivals.
New ways to view your squad
Managers are now able to switch between new squad views on the “Pick Team”, “Points” and “Transfers” pages to see more player information at a glance.
You will be able to view the Fixture Difficulty Ratings (FDR), ownership and next opponent of all your players, while their form and likelihood of going up or down in price will be added once the season is under way.
See how your career history compares
You can now find out how your career history compares with all other Fantasy managers in the world.
On the Fantasy website, you can see your career average across all seasons, and what that means as a percentage compared with everyone else.
Rookie League
If you’re new to Fantasy this season, you'll be able to compete against other rookie managers in a global league and have the chance to win fantastic prizes. So there's even more incentive to give Fantasy a go, and to encourage friends, family and work colleagues to take part.
Tweaks to Bonus Points System
The Bonus Points System is an important element of Fantasy, as it helps determine the allocation of bonus points awarded in each match.
Some tweaks have been made to the BPS for 2026/27 to reduce overlap with defensive contribution points and improve the bonus-point prospects of goalkeepers, full-backs and attacking players.
Later lockdown
The Gameweek "lockdown", when scores become final, will now be later, taking place at 09:00 UK time on the day after the final match of the Gameweek.
Previously, this happened one hour after the final whistle of the last match of the Gameweek.
The extension allows more time for post-match Opta review data to be reflected in the Bonus Points System and the defensive contribution points.
This will help to improve the accuracy of the data used in the final Gameweek scores.
What’s happening with chips?
One thing that ISN’T changing this season is the chips, with managers again having TWO sets to use across 2026/27 Fantasy.
Just like last season, you will have a Wildcard, Free Hit, Triple Captain and Bench Boost chip to use in each half of the campaign, meaning eight chips in total.
The first set of chips must be played before the Gameweek 19 deadline passes at 13:30 GMT on Saturday 2 January. They cannot be carried over into the second half of 2026/27.
You will still be able to roll up to five free transfers.
Last season, FPL managers were given extra free transfers in December to help them plan for the Africa Cup of Nations, but that will not happen this season because the tournament is not taking place in the 2026/27 campaign.
Defensive contribution points will also stay in 2026/27 Fantasy, after being introduced for the start of last season.
Adobe Express Gameweek Recaps
Introduced at the end of 2025/26, managers will be able to view their Gameweek Express Recaps after the end of each Gameweek.
Once a Gameweek is finalised and a manager’s points and ranks are confirmed, your Gameweek Recap image will be generated showcasing your Gameweek performance and top-performing player.
Managers will not need an Adobe Express account to use this feature.

Adobe Express team badges
Managers are able to keep their Adobe Express team badges created last season. If you don’t have one, you can create one for 2026/27, and you don't need an Adobe account to do so this season.
With Adobe Express you can easily create a personalised team badge that looks as sharp as your starting XI.
Create your team badge using generative AI, with smart suggestions for style, colour and more to help you make it your own.
