Man Utd goalkeeper wins accolade after superb debut campaign at Old Trafford

Manchester United goalkeeper Senne Lammens has been named as the Barclays Transfer of the Season after a sensational first campaign in the Premier League.

The accolade, in partnership with the Premier League's official bank partner, Barclays, honours the player to have made the biggest impact for their new club in the 2025/26.

Belgian 'keeper Lammens, who joined Man Utd from Royal Antwerp on Transfer Deadline Day last summer, played a huge part in his side's third-place finish, the club's highest final position in three seasons.

He was calm and composed in a rollercoaster campaign in which the Red Devils changed manager mid-season and then produced a breathtaking turnaround of form to secure UEFA Champions League football in 2026/27.

Lammens was undefeated in 28 of his 32 appearances for United (W18 D10 L4), producing 79 saves and keeping eight clean sheets across the campaign.

A standout moment for the 23-year-old came in United's 2-0 derby win against rivals Manchester City, an experience he described as "one of the best, if not the best game I've been part of, just in every facet".

Lammens won the 2025/26 award after votes from supporters.

He topped an eight-man shortlist that also included Dominic Calvert-Lewin (Leeds United), Rayan Cherki (Man City), Viktor Gyokeres (Arsenal), Joao Pedro (Chelsea), Antoine Semenyo (Man City), Adrien Truffert (AFC Bournemouth) and Granit Xhaka (Sunderland).
