Everton's Jordan Pickford has won the inaugural Microsoft Goalkeeper Performance of the Season award for his sensational display in a 2-0 win against Brighton & Hove Albion.
Jack Grealish may have grabbed the headlines on his Everton debut with his two assists for Iliman Ndiaye and James Garner, but the display of goalkeeper Pickford was also pivotal as the Toffees claimed their historic first win at their new Hill Dickinson Stadium.
Everton were already 1-0 ahead when defender James Tarkowski's backpass was intercepted by Matt O’Riley, but his attempt to round Pickford were thwarted by the England international, who saved brilliantly at the midfielder's feet.
Pickford then produced another huge save with his side 2-0 up, this time expertly reading Danny Welbeck’s spot-kick to save the eighth Premier League penalty of his career.
“Jordan probably changed the outcome of the game,” Everton manager David Moyes said of Pickford's performance.

It is the second award that England's No 1 has won this season, after his incredible save from Sandro Tonali's volley during Everton's 3-2 win over Newcastle United earned him the Coca-Cola Save of the Season prize.
How was the shortlist and winner determined?
The Microsoft Goalkeeper Performance of the Season award is new for 2025/26, looking at the most outstanding individual performance of the season by a goalkeeper.
The shortlist was determined by using the Overall Goalkeeper Value (OGV™) statistic, the proprietary metric created by Goalkeeper.com, best described as a single-number metric that summarises goalkeeper impact, with the winner decided after votes from supporters were combined with those of a panel of experts.
Pickford topped a shortlist that also included Martin Dubravka (Burnley), Robin Roefs (Sunderland), Jose Sa (Wolverhampton Wanderers), Robert Sanchez (Chelsea) and Guglielmo Vicario (Tottenham Hotspur).
