The Scout looks at the underlying stats and reveals which Gunners you need to own

The Scout analyses the data to reveal the best Arsenal picks for their Double Gameweek 26 (DGW26) in Fantasy Premier League.

Who do Arsenal play in Double Gameweek 26?

Managers in Fantasy are rushing to bring in Arsenal players for Double Gameweek 26 (DGW26) ahead of the deadline at 18:00 GMT on Tuesday 10 February.

As a reminder, a “Double Gameweek" is when a club play TWO Premier League fixtures in a round of matches, and their players get two chances to score points.

Arsenal are one of only two sides to play twice in DGW26, along with Wolverhampton Wanderers. The Gunners are on their travels in both their DGW26 matches, visiting Brentford before making their way to Molineux.

Forward Viktor Gyokeres (£8.7m) is the most-bought player, earning over 230,000 new owners after scoring twice against Sunderland at the weekend.

Midfield pair Martin Zubimendi (£5.2m) and Declan Rice (£7.5m) have both been brought in by 170,000+ managers, while goalkeeper David Raya (£5.9m), along with defenders Jurrien Timber (£6.4m) and Gabriel (£7.1m), have been transferred in by over 115,000 each.

Who are Arsenal's in-form players?

An assessment of Arsenal's top-performing players over the last four Gameweeks helps to highlight their impressive defensive displays.

The Gunners have kept three of their 13 clean sheets this season across this spell, with Gabriel, William Saliba (£6.1m), Raya and Timber ranked among their seven top-scoring players.

Both Gabriel and his fellow centre-back Saliba collected two defensive contribution points (DC) and two bonus points, with a yellow card for the latter the only difference between their output.

Timber, meanwhile, was booked twice and failed to earn DC or bonus points, meaning he trailed Gabriel by 17 points to 23.

Notably, the quartet above were among only six players to have started each of Arsenal's last four matches, along with midfielders Zubimendi and Rice, with Arteta rotating to cope with his club's busy schedule across a number of competitions.

As you can see from the table below, it's Zubimendi who was Arsenal's top-scoring player over the last four Gameweeks, scoring twice to pick up 24 points.

Noni Madueke (£6.8m) has profited from Bukayo Saka's (£9.9m) recent injury absence, starting three of the last four Gameweeks.

It's also worth noting that Gyokeres started only two of those four contests, and appeared off the bench against Sunderland on Saturday afternoon.

Nonetheless, his display surely strengthens his push for a return to the first XI - added to his goal against Leeds United in Gameweek 24, the Swede has scored in back-to-back matches for the first time in 2025/26 Fantasy.

Which Arsenal players have had the most goal threat recently?

A delve into the underlying data helps to further highlight the lack of any standout attacker for Arsenal.

For example, Gyokeres and his fellow forward Gabriel Jesus (£6.4m) rank joint-top for big chances - situations where a player is expected to score - with a total of three each. Yet both have started only two of those four matches.

Meanwhile, Gabriel Martinelli (£6.8m) - who has started one match -  ranked joint-top for shots in the box along with Gabriel Jesus, with six apiece.

The inclusion of the injured Mikel Merino (£5.4m) in the table below further helps to show that Arsenal have become far less reliant on individuals recently. Merino played just 79 minutes over those four matches, yet his total of three big-chance involvements still ranks joint-top.

Notably, there's no place here for Gabriel, who has mustered a mere two shots in the box. Instead, it's Timber who impresses the most - he has had one big chance and created another over those four encounters.

Who are Arsenal's best performers in away matches this season?

As Arsenal are playing two away matches, it's worth delving into the data over their 12 road trips to analyse a broader sample size.

As the table below shows, Rice and Gabriel are by far the dominant players when Arteta's side are on their travels due to their all-round output.

Rice has started all 12 of those matches and is Arsenal's top-scoring player on the road, with a total of 81 points. He's combined three goals and three assists with six clean sheet points, 14 defensive contribution points and 13 bonus points.

Gabriel, meanwhile, has played only nine of those matches due to a spell on the sidelines through injury. Yet he is still Arsenal's second top-scoring player on the road, having scored two of his three goals this season and supplied both of his assists in those contests.

Indeed, his 7.9 points per start (pps) in away matches is not only a team-leading average, it's ranks first among all regular starting players in 2025/26 Fantasy.

Certainly, when you contrast that with Timber, it becomes more apparent why the Brazilian is the better pick of the pair for the captaincy.

Across his 11 away starts, Timber has no attacking returns and a combined total of three defensive contribution points and bonus points.

Although he has mirrored the five clean sheets of Gabriel, Timber has averaged only 3.7pps in away matches, less than half his team-mate's 7.9.

The appearance of both Raya and Saliba among the top four here also shows that the Arsenal backline are the most reliable, with Rice holding a 37-point advantage over any other midfielder or forward for the Gunners on the road.

So, who are the best Arsenal players for DGW26?

Gabriel is by far the best Arsenal player to own for DGW26.

Over the season as a whole, the centre-back's average of 7.1 points per match (ppm) is near-identical to the 7.3 of Erling Haaland (£14.9m), and he should be viewed in the same way as the Norwegian when it comes to considering the captaincy.

Gabriel's improved output in away matches also lends further weight to considering him for the Triple Captain chip across those two matches.

Arteta's recent rotation only adds an element of risk to a number of Arsenal players, and a double-up or even triple-up on their resilient backline, with one or both of Timber and Raya, could be the best strategy.

In attack, the player data is far from encouraging and Arsenal's progress to the EFL Cup final only enhances the likelihood of more rotation.

With that in mind, Rice's security of starts and all-round style of play, combined with his set-piece duties, makes him the least likely to let managers down.

Arsenal's attack is stocked full of low-owned differentials if you are willing to take the risk, though. If Saka is ruled out, then Madueke's share of set-pieces may ultimately prove a big factor across the two matches.
