Tom Johnson selects his 6-a-side team as every headed attempt on goal earns four extra points

Gameweek 24 marks the fourth and final week of the "Archetypes" series. This weekend's FPL Challenge is called "The Aerial Threat", as every headed attempt on goal earns FOUR extra points.

There is a limit of one player per club for your 6-a-side team, but there is an unlimited budget. Here, FPL expert Tom Johnson reveals his team and explains his thinking, to help you pick your own line-up.

Pick your GW24 Challenge team NOW

Goalkeeper
Jordan Pickford (Everton)

Unsurprisingly, no goalkeeper has registered a headed attempt on goal this season in the Premier League.

Consequently, I've selected my goalkeeper based on clean sheet and save-point potential.

Pickford is the only goalkeeper to hit the 100-point mark in 2025/26 Fantasy.

A trip to Brighton & Hove Albion gives Everton the chance to continue their impressive defensive form. The Toffees have kept a clean sheet in each of their last three away matches, with Pickford notching two double-digit hauls in those contests.

Defenders
Gabriel (Arsenal)

Arsenal's main set-piece target was a shoo-in for a spot in my 3-1-1 formation. Since his return from injury, Gabriel is averaging 7.8 points per start, scoring twice in that period.

No Gunners player has registered more headed attempts on goal this season.

As well as goal threat, Gabriel also offers a strong chance of a clean sheet. Over the season, Arsenal lead the way for the most clean sheets and the fewest big chances conceded.

The Brazilian has also picked up defensive contribution points on five occasions, the most of any Arsenal defender.

Trevoh Chalobah (Chelsea)

Only the aforementioned Gabriel has scored more Fantasy points among defenders than Chelsea's Chalobah, who has been in brilliant form of late. The Englishman has returned at least three points in 11 of his last 14 matches.

Among Blues defenders, Chalobah ranks first for both headed attempts on goal and big chances, with seven and three respectively. He is also regularly picking up defensive contributions, reaching the threshold in each of the last four Gameweeks.

Encouragingly, no team have conceded more headed attempts on goal than Chelsea's opponents West Ham, who have allowed 91. Chalobah also scored in the reverse fixture back in Gameweek 2, one of four attacking returns this season.

Dan Ballard (Sunderland)

Despite starting just 15 Gameweeks, Ballard leads the way among defender for big chances, with eight. The Northern Ireland international has also racked up 14 headed attempts on goal, ranking him second in his position.

A home fixture against Burnley provides an opportunity for points at both end of the pitch. The Black Cats are yet to suffer defeat at the Stadium of Light this season, with Ballard averaging an impressive 8.0 points per match at home.

The Clarets have shipped 44 goals and conceded the second-most headed attempts on goal (79) this season. Scott Parker's men are also yet to keep a clean sheet away from home.

Midfielder
Casemiro (Man Utd)

Manchester United's defensive midfielder, Casemiro, takes the solitary midfield place in my team. On the face of it, this may seem like a strange selection, but only two midfielders have registered more headed attempts on goal this season.

Three of the Brazilian's four goals have been headers, usually benefiting from Bruno Fernandes' superb deliveries. Only Arsenal have scored more goals than the Red Devils from set-pieces.

Should Casemiro fail to return the four extra points for a headed attempt on goal or an attacking return, he does offer decent potential for defensive contributions as an insurance. Over the campaign, the 33-year-old has reached the threshold of 12 on nine occasions.

Forward
Erling Haaland (Man City)

Completing my line-up is Haaland. Although the top-scoring player in Fantasy was benched last time out, the Norwegian returned to the starting XI in midweek and scored against Galatasaray.

No player can beat Haaland's tallies of 25 headed attempts on goal or 36 big chances this season. The Golden Boot leader is the only player to average more than one headed attempt on goal per match, and consequently he will be my captain.

Man City travel to Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday, a fixture that will hold no fear for Pep Guardiola's side. Only Wolverhampton Wanderers have fewer points at home than Spurs, who sit 19th in the home table and have kept just two clean sheets at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
