Saturday was a record-breaking day for Jarrod Bowen as he became West Ham United’s top player for goal involvements in the Premier League.
Bowen, the West Ham captain, went into the match at home to Sunderland, level with ex-Hammers forward Michail Antonio for goal involvements on 101 (62 goals, 39 assists).
He moved one ahead with an assist, crossing for Crysencio Summerville to head in the opener in the 14th minute. Bowen then edged further clear of his former teammate by doubling West Ham’s lead over Sunderland with a penalty to move to 103 goal involvements (63 goals, 40 assists).
Bowen is also now only five goals away from equalling Antonio's all-time Premier League record for the club.

“It’s some feeling," Bowen told West Ham's official website. "I think individual milestones are great, even though I don’t think you’re ever fully aware of them. The one I am aware of is the goals record, and I’m not far off now, so I’ve got my eye on it!

“I feel I’m quite an old-school, robust kind of player, and I just try to go out there and give my all every time. I want to score, get assists and help the team, and certainly with where we are in the table I want to help us get results and push upwards.”
"We are very lucky to have him," said Nuno Espirito Santo. "He is a captain who leads by example, takes us forward, fights for every ball and is always dangerous."
Bowen has also scored and assisted in 11 different Premier League games for West Ham, which is the most of any player for the club, overtaking Paolo Di Canio, who managed it 10 times.
His impact helped West Ham record back-to-back victories after beating Tottenham Hotspur 2-1 last week, taking them to 20 points.
Nuno's men are now only two points adrift of 17th-placed Nottingham Forest outside the relegation zone, albeit Sean Dyche's side have a game in hand away at Brentford on Sunday.
“Winning three in a row is always nice,” Bowen said. “It’s QPR [in the FA Cup], Tottenham and Sunderland today, so that’s a really good position to be in.
“Like I’ve said many times though, it’s up to us to go out there and do that, and to perform. Certainly over the last few weeks we’ve done that, and I think we’ve shown we can win in different ways."
