Scout Selection: Best Fantasy team for Gameweek 17

See the dream line-up, with Man City, Arsenal and Bournemouth supplying seven players of the team

Manchester City, Arsenal and AFC Bournemouth supply a combined seven of the best team for Gameweek 17.

There’s a triple-up on Man City, with Erling Haaland (£15.0m) and Phil Foden (£8.8m) joined by left-back Nico O’Reilly (£5.3m), for their home match against West Ham United.

Arsenal and Bournemouth, meanwhile, are backed at both ends of the pitch.

Gunners duo Piero Hincapie (£5.5m) and Bukayo Saka (£10.3m) visit Everton, while the Cherries’ Marcos Senesi (£4.9m) and Antoine Semenyo (£7.6m) are at home to Burnley.

The side lines up in a 3-4-3 formation, with Haaland claiming the armband and Foden named as vice-captain.

Bart Verbruggen (Brighton) £4.4m

At a price of just £4.4m, the Brighton & Hove Albion No 1 could be a handy value option at home to Sunderland. Verbruggen has produced all three of his clean sheets this season in the last seven Gameweeks, while Sunderland have scored just one goal in their last three matches on the road.

Piero Hincapie (Arsenal) £5.5m

The versatile Ecuadorian has now started each of the last five Gameweeks and offers a relatively inexpensive route into the Arsenal defence. Hincapie has earned defensive contribution points in each of the last three Gameweeks, bettering his more expensive team-mate Jurrien Timber (£6.5m) by 15 points to six in that spell.

Nico O’Reilly (Man City) £5.3m

The left-back has been a reliable source of returns at both ends of the pitch at the Etihad Stadium. O’Reilly has amassed 40 points in his last five home matches, combining a goal and three assists with three clean sheets.

Marcos Senesi (Bournemouth) £4.9m

Bournemouth’s centre-back is the No 1 player this season for defensive contributions, earning 24 extra points – the equivalent of six clean sheets – for his actions. The Cherries have conceded just five goals in home matches in 2025/26, second only to the four of Arsenal, suggesting Senesi offers a strong chance of a shutout against Burnley.

Bukayo Saka (Arsenal) £10.3m

The Arsenal winger has two goals, four assists and 42 points across the last six Gameweeks. Saka has only blanked twice in his last 10 matches now, producing a goal, an assist or defensive contribution points on eight occasions to underline his many routes to Fantasy returns.

Phil Foden (Man City) £8.8m

The England star looks set to continue in an advanced role against West Ham due to an injury to winger Jeremy Doku (£6.5m). Foden has delivered four successive double-figure hauls in Fantasy and is among the very best captaincy alternatives to Haaland.

Antoine Semenyo (Bournemouth) £7.6m

The Bournemouth star finally rewarded the patience of his 43 per cent backers by ending a run of seven blanks with a goal against Manchester United last time around. Semenyo can build on that momentum against a Burnley side who have conceded 23 goals in away matches – the joint-worst record in the league.

Harry Wilson (Fulham) £5.6m

Managers have made the Fulham winger a must-have after he produced his season-high haul of 16 points against Burnley time out. Having scored three goals and supplied four assists in the last four Gameweeks, Wilson has earned a massive 946,000+ new owners for his home match with Nottingham Forest

Erling Haaland (Man City) £15.0m

His two goals and 13 points against Crystal Palace last weekend showed why it’s a very risky moved to go against the Man City star with the captaincy. Up against a West Ham side who are without a clean sheet in 11 matches under Nuno Espirito Santo, there would be little surprise if Haaland claimed his eighth double-figure haul of the campaign this Saturday afternoon.

Hugo Ekitike (Liverpool) £8.6m

The Frenchman is second only to Wilson for new owners in Gameweek 17, with more than 644,000 managers bringing him in for Liverpool’s visit to Tottenham Hotspur. Ekitike has thrived since being handed a role up front recently, scoring twice and earning 13 points in each of the last two Gameweeks.

Igor Thiago (Brentford) £7.2m

Brentford’s star forward is aiming to shake off a knock for the visit to Wolverhampton Wanderers this weekend. Wolves have yet to keep a single clean sheet this season, offering plenty of encouragement for Thiago’s 38+ per cent backers after his run of three successive blanks.
