FPL Challenge: Expert reveals their Gameweek 15 team

Sam Bonfield selects her 6-a-side team as defenders and goalkeepers priced £5.0m or under score DOUBLE points

The latest FPL Challenge is called "Big Save" as all goalkeepers and defenders priced at £5.0m or under score DOUBLE points in Gameweek 15.

There is a limit of one player per club for your 6-a-side team, but there is an unlimited budget. Here, FPL expert Sam Bonfield reveals her team and explains her thinking, to help you pick your own line-up.

Goalkeeper
Senne Lammens (Man Utd)

The goalkeeper slot has been a difficult decision this week. Brighton & Hove Albion might have conceded four goals in Gameweek 14, but prior to that they kept three clean sheets in the four matches and only conceded once.

Therefore, goalkeeper Bart Verbruggen looks like a good pick in this week's challenge. Since Gameweek 10, Verbruggen has made 16 saves, earned four save points and was the second-highest scoring goalkeeper in that period, with 27 points, which was only bettered by Dean Henderson.

However, with only one player per team again this week, it makes sense to pick one defensive player from Brighton, Crystal Palace, Newcastle United and Manchester United.

After scoring twice in midweek, Jan Paul van Hecke's attacking potential means that I have opted for Senne Lammens in goal.

Since arriving at Man Utd in the summer, Lammens has had a positive impact on their defence. He has made 17 saves, earned three save points and has registered two bonus points. The Belgian faces a Wolverhampton Wanderers side without a goal in over eight hours of playing time.

Defenders
Malick Thiaw (Newcastle)

Malick Thiaw registered an impressive 16 points against Everton in Gameweek 13 and despite only returning one point against Tottenham Hotspur in Gameweek 14, he still looks a great option for Gameweek 15.

Since Gameweek 4, Thiaw has had 10 shots on goal of which nine have come from inside the box and three have been classified as big chances, which are situations where the player is expected to score.

Of all the defenders in this period, only Dan Ballard from Sunderland has had more big chances than Thiaw. Newcastle face a Burnley side who have conceded more goals on the road than any other side, with 21, which could bode well for Thiaw's attacking threat.

Chris Richards (Crystal Palace)

Marc Guehi and Daniel Munoz are too expensive to be able to benefit from having their points doubled in Gameweek 15, costing £5.1m and £6.1m respectively.

While they always feel like the best options from Palace as a result of their attacking threat, Richards will have his points doubled in this week's challenge, so he feels a better pick.

Munoz and Guehi both registered 14 points in last time out and had this challenge applied in Gameweek 14, then Richards would have seen his nine points doubled to 18, beating both his team-mates.

Richards has registered defensive contribution points seven times this season, once more than Guehi and has seven clean sheets to his name.

Jan Paul van Hecke (Brighton)

Van Hecke has produced returns in four of Brighton's last five matches. The defender produced 12 points in Gameweek 14 despite conceding four goals, which takes him to three attacking returns for the season.

The Dutchman is also Brighton's top defender for defensive contribution points this season, with 10. Brighton face a West Ham United team that have struggled in both defence and attack this season meaning that Van Hecke has the potential for returns at both ends of the pitch.

Midfielder
Pedro Neto (Chelsea)

Chelsea's Pedro Neto was benched in Gameweek 14 but came on to score Chelsea's consolation goal in their defeat to Leeds United on Wednesday evening.

Neto is the fourth-highest scoring midfielder in the game this season, with 68 points. His only blank in the last seven weeks came against an Arsenal defence, who are statistically the best in the league.

Since Gameweek 8, Neto has returned 48 points. In that period he has averaged seven points per match and has six attacking returns. Chelsea face an AFC Bournemouth side who are without a win in the last five matches and have conceded 13 goals in that period.

Forward
Erling Haaland (Man City)

After two blanks in the Premier League, Haaland was back at his points scoring best against Fulham on Tuesday evening.

The forward scored, returned two assists and earned two bonus points on his way to a 14-point haul. His goal in Gameweek 14 marked his 100th in the Premier League.

Haaland remains the top-scoring player in the game and has a home fixture in Gameweek 15. Despite playing Sunderland, who have the third-best defence in the league this season, they have only kept two clean sheets away from home and they came back in Gameweek 4 and 6.
