FPL GW10 stats: Gyokeres and Joao Pedro end droughts on good day for FPL forwards

The two most-transferred-out forwards produce their first returns since Gameweek 4

Joao Pedro (£7.4m) and Viktor Gyokeres (£9.0m) both scored to end their recent goal droughts in what was a good day for forwards in Fantasy Premier League.

The most-bought forward of Gameweek 10, Jean-Philippe Mateta (£7.9m), also scored to reward his 1.1million new owners, as did the third most-bought forward, Danny Welbeck (£6.5m).

Most transfers for Gameweek 10
Most transfers in Most transfers out
Mbeumo 1,635,466 Joao Pedro 1,603,180
Mateta 1,110,792 Reijnders 591,656
Woltemade 623,510 Kudus 489,301
Gabriel 618,879 Salah 485,378
Welbeck 503,952 Gyokeres 308,614

Neither Joao Pedro nor Gyokeres had produced a return since Gameweek 4, blanking in each of their previous five appearances.

Joao Pedro had been especially disappointing over that period, registering just a single shot in the box in 427 minutes on the pitch. But he turned that statistic on its head with a Gameweek-high five shots in the box as Chelsea beat Tottenham Hotspur 1-0

Indeed, it could have been even better for Joao Pedro's faithful owners, with the Brazilian presented with four big chances - situations where a player is expected to score - as well as creating one big chance.

Arsenal's Gyokeres was involved in three big chances of his own, despite being withdrawn at half-time of the 2-0 win at Burnley.

The Sweden international scored one and created two, although his team-mates were unable to capitalise on the gilt-edged opportunities. His all-round performance saw him rewarded with a share of the bonus points.

Three forwards in top five

Mateta took his tally to six goals for the season as Crystal Palace won 2-0 at home to Brentford. With an appealing run of matches to come, including trips to Wolverhampton Wanderers and Burnley over the next four Gameweeks, interest in the 23.2 per cent-owned Frenchman is only set to increase.

He's already the most-transferred-in player for Gameweek 11 with more than 240,000 adding him to their squads.

Welbeck, meanwhile, continued his sparkling form with a sixth goal in five Gameweeks, the most of any player.

The evergreen 34-year-old, who turns 35 later this month, was snapped up by more than 503,000 Fantasy managers for Brighton & Hove Albion's 3-0 win over Leeds and he rewarded them with a six-point return. He needs just five more points to overtake Marcus Rashford in terms of career Fantasy points.

It was a different story for Nick Woltemade (£7.5m), however. The German international blanked and was substituted at half time in Newcastle United's 3-1 defeat to West Ham United. The Hammers had conceded the most goals of any team this season prior to Gameweek 10, raising the hopes of Woltemade's 623,000+ new owners, but he was unable to take advantage and failed to register a shot.

In-form Gabriel

The most-recruited defender of the round, Gabriel (£6.6m), has now returned in five consecutive Gameweeks, totalling a league-leading 55 points in that time, three points more than Erling Haaland (£14.8m).

The centre-back combined a clean sheet with an assist, two defensive contribution points and two bonus points for a 12-point return in the win at Turf Moor.

There wasn't such good news for Gameweek 10's No 1 transfer target, Bryan Mbeumo (£8.3m) as he was unable to follow up his 15-point haul last time out, blanking in Manchester United's 2-2 draw with Nottingham Forest.

And Mohamed Salah (£14.2m) confounded his sellers with a goal and a share of the bonus in Liverpool's 2-0 win over Aston Villa

Salah recorded his first double-digit return in 2025/26 Fantasy as his form shows signs of improving. He's scored in each of his last two matches and has had a team-high eight shots across those games.

Tijjani Reijnders (£5.5m) was unable to punish the 500,000+ managers who sold him, as he was benched in the Premier League for the first time this season. Reijnders has registered just a single assist since Gameweek 2 and is currently the second most-sold player ahead of Gameweek 11, ditched by over 163,000 people.
