Did you beat the icon? See Nemzzz's points in FPL Challenge

Find out how well the rapper's team performed in Gameweek 9, when double points were awarded to long-serving players

The Scout takes a look at how many points Nemzzz's team scored in the sixth week of the FPL Challenge and Coca-Cola “Beat The Icon” event. Managers were invited to beat the rapper, who ended up on 34 points as five of his six players scored double points.

The big success story of Nemzzz's week was selecting Mohamed Salah for his second-half goal against Brentford, despite his slow start to the season. This shows the benefit of backing the upside in Fantasy Challenge with a single goal worth 12 points.

In contrast, Erling Haaland (the only player not eligible for double points in Nemzzz's line-up) failed to return as his captain and blanked in Fantasy for the first time since Gameweek 2. The Norwegian was uncharacteristically quiet and registered just 0.24 Expected Goal Involvement (xGI), his lowest of the 2025/26 campaign.

With the benefit of hindsight, Jarrod Bowen and Danny Welbeck were the long-serving iconic players to back, returning 10 and 12 points respectively. However, it would have been brave to opt against Haaland given the form he has been in this season.

Elsewhere, Bruno Fernandes and Bukayo Saka scored eight and six points. The former returned defensive contribution points for the third time this season and was unlucky not to notch an attacking return with his xGI tally of 0.57, the second-highest of the match. Bryan Mbeumo was the star of the show at Old Trafford, scoring 15 points, although he didn't benefit from double points.

Saka was quiet by his high standards and was substituted after 65 minutes by Mikel Arteta, who later revealed that the England star was ill during week and had missed training. Perhaps Nemzzz would have opted for an alternative pick had Arteta been more forthcoming.

At the back, both Jordan Pickford and Reece James failed to return for Nemzzz as Everton and Chelsea put in disappointing performances in Gameweek 9. Neither player was able to keep a clean sheet but did have their solitary points doubled at least.

Gabriel was the big winner of the Gameweek with his nine-point return doubled having signed for the Gunners in the summer of 2020. The Brazilian was selected by over 40 per cent of Fantasy Challenge managers. The only goalkeeper to keep a clean sheet and get their points doubled was Emiliano Martinez, although his 0.5 per cent ownership figure suggests not many managers saw that coming!
