AFC Bournemouth had no answer to Crystal Palace centre-forward Jean-Philippe Mateta on Saturday as the France international continued his superb form with a stunning hat-trick in a 3-3 thriller at Selhurst Park.
Palace were twice facing defeat at 2-0 and then 3-2 down but, inspired by their No 14, they battled back in sensational style to earn a point against a formidable AFC Bournemouth team who would have temporarily gone top of the table with a win.
Alan Shearer, the Premier League's record goalscorer and Hall of Fame inductee, was highly impressed by Mateta's heroics, which took his season's tally to five goals in eight starts, naming him in his Team of the Week.
