One of The Scout's panel of Fantasy Premier League experts, Pranil Sheth, is using his Wildcard chip in Gameweek 8. Here he reveals his 15-man line-up and the reasons for his choices.
Goalkeepers
Nick Pope (£5.1m): Newcastle United have the second best Expected Goals Against (xGA) tally in the league at the moment. In addition, Pope is good for save and bonus points, which is why I prefer him to David Raya (£5.7m), who is likely to deliver lots of two and six-pointers.
Martin Dubravka (£4.0m): At just £4.0m, Dubravka is the best budget 'keeper in the game. He will be especially useful for when I use my Bench Boost chip, likely to be in Gameweek 9.
Defenders
Gabriel (£6.3m): Arsenal's Brazilian has picked up defensive contribution points in three of his last four matches. Add that to his clean-sheet potential and goal threat from set-pieces and he's a monster pick. Jurrien Timber (£5.9m): I am doubling up on Arsenal defence, with both Timber and Gabriel offering points potential at both ends of the pitch. Full-back Timber is very attacking these days and is sometimes even more advanced than winger Bukayo Saka (£9.9m). Marcos Senesi (£5.0m): Despite the price increases, Senesi still offers great value at his price, providing clean-sheet potential, defensive contributions and a set-piece threat. Max Kilman (£4.4m): I'm buying into a defence before a potential new manager bounce under Nuno Espirito Santo as West Ham's fixtures ease up. He registered 20 clearances, blocks, interceptions or tackles (CBIT) against Arsenal to comfortably pick up two defensive contribution points, which is encouraging. Joe Rodon (£4.0m): The Leeds centre-back is my budget pick of choice. He is decent for defensive contributions and has already scored this season. The Wales international also faces West Ham at home in Gameweek 9, when I'm looking to deploy the Bench Boost chip.
Midfielders
Bukayo Saka (£9.9m): Saka is one of Arsenal's nailed and premium attackers who offers a significant set-piece and share of penalties.
Antoine Semenyo (£7.9m): The AFC Bournemouth midfielder has started the season on fire and I see no reason to remove him on my Wildcard for what I believe is his breakthrough season. He's taking a lot more shots this season from better positions.
Enzo Fernandez (£6.7m): The Argentinian is likely to play as a No 10 for as long as Cole Palmer (£10.3m) remains out due to a groin injury. Enzo is averaging one big chance per match and it helps that he is on some set-pieces and might even be on penalties in Palmer's absence.Ismaila Sarr (£6.5m): Sarr pretty much plays like a forward for a Crystal Palace team who are reliant on transitions, and he hogs the majority of the shot share along with Jean-Philippe Mateta (£7.5m).
Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall (£5.0m): I still believe Dewsbury-Hall to be the best £5.0m midfielder in the game. He plays as a No 10 for an attacking Everton team and shares some set-piece duties. He will always be my eighth attacker, but a very able one.Forwards
Erling Haaland (£14.5m): Simply put, you can't play FPL without Haaland in your team right now while he is in this form. Manchester City are playing a lot more direct this season and all the chances are funnelled to him.
Jarrod Bowen (£7.7m): West Ham have a good set of upcoming fixtures and Bowen has been talismanic for them over a number of seasons. I hope the new manager bounce will also help.
Joao Pedro (£7.7m): Like with Enzo, Chelsea have some good fixtures, and with Palmer sidelined, a well-earned rest during the international break means that Joao Pedro's minutes should go up for the good fixture run.
