Eight young players have been nominated for the Premier League 2 (PL2) Player of the Month award for September 2025.
The nominees have been selected by the Premier League Football Development Panel, who will also decide the winner, with the result being announced later this week.

Why the players were nominated
Romeo Akachukwu (Southampton): The 19-year-old enjoyed a memorable month, earning his first call-up for the Republic of Ireland Under-21s while also playing his part as Southampton beat Burnley, setting up Moses Sesay and then scoring himself in a 2-1 win. He then provided an assist for Nick Oyekunle in Saints' thrilling 3-3 draw at Manchester City.
Farhaan Ali Wahid (Fulham): Ali Wahid's excellent start to 2025/26 continued as the 18-year-old produced three goal involvements across the month. It was from his precision pass that Seth Ridgeon fired the opening goal in a 2-0 victory over West Bromwich Albion. Ali Wahid then produced a goal and an assist in Fulham's 3-1 win at Birmingham City.
Joe Belmont (Brighton): Belmont weighed in with three goals in September, following up his close-range finish in a 3-1 victory over Derby County with a brace at West Ham United, including an 85th-minute equaliser, as Brighton completed a stunning comeback to earn a 3-3 draw after falling 3-0 behind in the opening 24 minutes.
Andre Harriman-Annous (Arsenal): Coming from a sporting family - his brother Brandon began the season at Hull City and his cousin Maro Itoje is captain of England's national rugby union team - Harriman-Annous is carving his own path. The 17-year-old netted two goals - including a penalty winner in the ninth minute of stoppage time - as Arsenal beat Wolverhampton Wanderers 3-2, and then produced the decisive strike in a 1-0 success at Derby County.
Rio Kyerematen (Spurs): England youth international Kyerematen continued his strong start to the season with two goals to help Spurs record an emphatic 6-3 success at Leicester City while putting in another tireless shift as they then recorded a clean sheet in a narrow 1-0 victory over West Bromwich Albion.
Aaron Loupalo-Bi (Fulham): Striker Loupalo-Bi made senior appearances in pre-season wins over Nottingham Forest and Al-Ittihad and has continued to impress. He set up Ali Wahid for the opener at Birmingham before adding two poacher's goals in that 3-1 win. The 19-year-old marked a fine month by signing a new deal to extend his stay at Fulham until the summer of 2028, with a club option of a further year.
Tudor Mendel-Idowu (Ipswich): Former Chelsea youngster Mendel-Idowu is known for his outstanding academic record - he was made a King's Scholar at Eton College at the age of 13 - but he is proving equally adept learning his trade as a footballer. The 20-year-old kicked off last month by netting against his former club in a 4-2 Ipswich win, following up with another goal in a 3-2 success over Liverpool.
Luca Williams-Barnett (Spurs): It's been quite an eventful time for Spurs' midfielder Williams-Barnett, who signed his first professional contract on 2 October, the day after his 17th birthday. On the field, the month of September proved just as memorable. Williams-Barnett scored a blistering 39-minute hat-trick in Spurs' 6-3 win at Leicester and provided an assist for Leo Black to add their sixth goal.
