Should you Triple-Captain Haaland against Burnley in Gameweek 6?

The Scout analyses Man City star's form and looks at when else you could play the chip

The Scout uses the Fixture Difficulty Ratings (FDR) to identify the best Gameweeks to play your first Triple Captain chip in 2025/26 Fantasy Premier League.

Many managers will be considering using the chip on Erling Haaland (£14.3m) after he was declared to be "ready" to face Burnley by Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola.

The City star has climbed to the top of the player standings on the back of six goals over the first five Gameweeks.

Burnley, meanwhile, have conceded six goals on their two road trips this season.

Which players have been involved in the most big chances?

A delve into the data helps to show Haaland's peerless potential for attacking returns in the early stages of the new campaign.

While his 20 shots in the box -  at least seven more than any other player in Fantasy - make a strong case for his armband ability, it is Haaland's involvement in big chances, or situations where the player is expected to score, than really put him head and shoulders ahead of any of his rivals.

He's had 10 such opportunities and created two more for team-mates, which essentially means he has been involved in 12 big chances across the first five Gameweeks.

Put into perspective, his nearest rival is AFC Bournemouth's Antoine Semenyo (£7.7m), with six big-chance involvements.

Indeed, only NINE other players have been involved in at least four big chances, including Fantasy big-hitters such as Arsenal's Viktor Gyokeres (£9.0m), Chelsea's Joao Pedro (£7.8m), Liverpool's Mohamed Salah (£14.5m) and Manchester United's Bruno Fernandes (£9.0m).

When are the best times to use the Triple Captain chip?

The list below combines those players with the most threat with their most favourable home matches from now until Gameweek 19, which is the last opportunity you have to play the first Triple Captain chip.

All three promoted clubs - Burnley, Leeds United and Sunderland - are among the targeted opponents, as are West Ham United and Wolverhampton Wanderers, who have conceded more goals than any other sides.

Certainly, if Haaland's goal threat remains so far ahead of his rivals, then he has to be the best player to use the chip on.

As well as a plum fixture in Gameweek 6, the Man City forward plays at home to all three promoted clubs in the first half of 2025/26, facing Leeds and Sunderland in Gameweeks 13 and 15 respectively.

In Gameweek 17, Haaland also faces West Ham at home, who have conceded three more big chances than any other side.

If you fancy playing the chip on Salah, Liverpool are at home to Sunderland, Wolves and Leeds in this run.

However, the latter two matches are in Gameweeks 18-19, when he could already be away on international duty with Egypt ahead of the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).

Arsenal's Gyokeres and Bukayo Saka (£9.8m) have home fixtures against West Ham and Wolves in Gameweeks 7 and 16 respectively, while Man Utd's Fernandes also plays at home to both those clubs, as well as Sunderland.

Joao Pedro and his Chelsea team-mate Cole Palmer (£10.4m), along with Bournemouth's Semenyo, also have two opportunities at home to those five targeted clubs that will warrant consideration for the Triple Captain chip.
