The Scout’s FPL Gameweek 5 transfer radar

See four players backed by The Scout to score big in this weekend's matches

The Scout is tipping four players for big success in Gameweek 5 of 2025/26 Fantasy Premier League ahead of Saturday's 11:00 BST deadline to help managers gain an edge over their mini-league rivals.

Joao Pedro (Chelsea) £7.8m

Most Fantasy managers will need little introduction to Joao Pedro.

FPL's most-selected player, sitting in over two-thirds of squads, has delivered five attacking returns across the last three Gameweeks. The Brazilian sits joint-fourth among all players for points, with 33.

For those who still don't own Joao Pedro, it's not too late to get aboard the bandwagon.

Three of the four sides yet to keep a clean sheet in 2025/26, Brighton, Manchester United and Nottingham Forest, are up next for Chelsea.

And from Gameweek 9, the Blues embark on an excellent run of matches in which they face all three promoted clubs and bottom side Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Xavi Simons (Spurs) £7.0m

Brighton & Hove Albion are another one of the four sides yet to record a single clean sheet across the opening four Gameweeks.

The Seagulls have also allowed 19 chances to be created from their right flank in 2025/26 - that's 16 more than the number of opportunities they have conceded from the opposite wing.

Both of the above stats will boost the appeal of Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Simons, who should be operating down Brighton's right channel this Saturday.

The Dutchman got his Premier League career off to a strong start in Gameweek 4, supplying an assist in the win over West Ham United.

The trip to Brighton is the start of a decent run of fixtures for Thomas Frank's side. None of their next seven matches score more than three in the Fixture Difficulty Rankings (FDR).

Owned by only two per cent of managers, those who invest in Simons will benefit from a player that many mini-league rivals won't have in their team.

Nikola Milenkovic (Nottingham Forest) £5.5m

It remains to be seen how much Ange Postecoglou's arrival at the City Ground will affect Nottingham Forest's style of play.

After a baptism of fire at Arsenal in Gameweek 4, Postecoglou and his new team now have two favourable fixtures to kickstart their season.

First up is a trip to Burnley, who rank 18th in the Premier League for Expected Goals (xG). Their totals of 30 goal attempts and 17 shots in the box are also league lows.

Forest then host Sunderland, with the Black Cats themselves sitting in 17th place for xG.

So, two opportunities for Milenkovic and his fellow Forest defenders to end their clean-sheet drought.

The Serbian centre-back, whose tally of five goals in 2024/25 wasn't bettered by any other Fantasy defender, could also prosper at the other end of the field.

Burnley's total of 2.5 xG conceded from set-pieces is the second-worst in the division, so Milenkovic could get plenty of joy from corners and free-kicks.

Anton Stach (Leeds) £5.0m

Stach is the only FPL midfielder to hit double figures for shots and chances created this season, registering 10 and 11 respectively.

A taker of free-kicks and corners, he has also banked defensive contribution points in one of his four outings.

The German all-rounder has some appealing fixtures coming up, too.

None of Leeds' next eight matches score higher than three in the FDR.

That run begins with a trip to Wolves, who are also one of the four clubs that have yet to keep a clean sheet.

Reliable for minutes, Stach could be a great budget-friendly midfielder for FPL managers in the weeks and months ahead.
