Help decide who is crowned the official Premier League Player of the Matchweek

Matchweek 4 (MW4) of the 2025/26 Premier League season featured some outstanding individual performances. We picked out eight of the best and you were able to vote to help decide who the Premier League Player of the Matchweek is. 

Did you vote for Erling Haaland after his brace in the Manchester derby? Maybe Bournemouth's match-winner Antoine Semenyo or one of the goalkeepers on our shortlist, Emiliano Martinez or Robin Roefs, got your vote? You had until 12:00 BST on Tuesday 16 September to cast your vote.

Lucas Bergvall (West Ham 0-3 Spurs)

Tottenham Hotspur’s impressive victory over London rivals West Ham United was inspired by Bergvall, who delivered both a goal and an assist in a standout performance.

The 19-year-old Swede scored his first Premier League goal in style, powering in a header that doubled Spurs’ lead just before the hour mark.

He then turned provider for Micky van de Ven to seal the win and cap off a memorable afternoon for Thomas Frank's side.

Moises Caicedo (Brentford 2-2 Chelsea)

While goals are few and far between for Caicedo, they are often spectacular when they arrive, and his late strike against Brentford was no exception.

On the 85th-minute mark, the Ecuadorian midfielder unleashed a thunderous effort to put Chelsea ahead.

Alongside his goal, Caicedo showcased his trademark defensive qualities, winning back possession eight times, the most of any player on the pitch.

Erling Haaland (Man City 3-0 Man Utd)

Haaland once again stole the show in the Manchester derby, firing a brace to extend his remarkable scoring record against Manchester United.

The Manchester City striker broke the deadlock in the 53rd minute, latching onto Jeremy Doku’s pass before chipping over Man Utd goalkeeper Altay Bayindir.

Fifteen minutes later, Haaland struck again, finishing calmly in another one-on-one situation.

The Norwegian has now scored eight Manchester derby goals in the Premier League — more than any player in the competition’s history, as well as five goals in his opening four matches of the season.

Emiliano Martinez (Aston Villa 0-0 Everton) 

Aston Villa goalkeeper Martinez was reintroduced to the starting line-up against Everton at Hill Dickinson Stadium, where his world-class shot stopping ability was on full display as he kept a clean sheet. 

Martinez made two incredible reflex saves; the first stop was with his feet to deny August’s Player of the Month, Jack Grealish, and the second was a brilliant, outstretched arm to tip Michael Keane’s header past the crossbar.

Robin Roefs (Crystal Palace 0-0 Sunderland)  

Roefs’ inspired performance in goal earned Sunderland a hard-fought point away to an unbeaten Crystal Palace side.  

The Dutch international made six saves, with the standout being an excellent double save to prevent Christantus Uche and Daichi Kamada from snatching a win for Palace at the death.

Antoine Semenyo (AFC Bournemouth 2-1 Brighton) 

Semenyo starred again for Bournemouth, spearheading his side to victory with a goal and an assist, to claim three consecutive wins.  

He set up Alex Scott who fired a shot into the net, then scored by calmly slotting from the penalty spot. 

The Bournemouth talisman's superb form has helped to propel his side up to fourth place, with nine points. Only the Premier League leaders and defending champions, Liverpool, have a bigger tally.

Nick Woltemade (Newcastle 1-0 Wolves)

Woltemade announced himself in style on his Premier League debut, scoring the decisive goal as Newcastle United claimed their first win of the season.

The towering German striker powerfully headed home a pinpoint cross from Jacob Murphy midway through the first half.

Beyond his winning goal, the 21-year-old made his presence felt in an impressive all-round performance.

Martin Zubimendi (Arsenal 3-0 Nottingham Forest)

Zubimendi delivered a standout display at the Emirates, scoring a brace in Arsenal’s commanding victory.

The Spanish midfielder opened the scoring in spectacular fashion, volleying home from the edge of the box with a strike that was later voted the best goal of the weekend by fans on the Premier League WhatsApp channel.

He made certain of the result with his second goal, heading in from Leandro Trossard’s cross with 11 minutes left to play.
